The Machine Builder I assembles, debugs and installs entire machines and/or systems in a timely manner and meet customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Work under instruction of production team members to eventually fulfill the role of Machine Builder II.
- Assemble all aspects of a machine or multi-system from drawings and/or verbal instructions.
- Rework critical machine components as required.
- Use knowledge of pneumatic functions, devices and fittings, to achieve desired results.
- Record changes to machine parts and assemblies on engineering drawings.
- Provide information for machine technical documentation.
- Maintain a safe working environment and follow safe working practices.
- Keep work area clean.
- Maintain tools and equipment in a safe, clean and orderly fashion.
- Follow work instructions and maintain checklists.
- Maintain departmental goals in keeping with company objectives.
- Recommend improvements in order to facilitate company growth
- Adhere to International Standardization Organization (ISO) 13485 certification requirements.
- Comply with all ATS Company policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School or trade school.
- One to two (1-2) years’ related experience
- Minimal experience in machine assembly.
- Journeyman toolmaker or equivalent skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Good interpersonal skills.
Must be knowledgeable in the proper use and selection of tools and equipment, for example:
- Inspection and measurement tools such as Vernier, caliper, and scales, etc.
- Hand tools such as a variety of wrenches, pliers, saws, power drills, etc
- Machinery such as milling machine, surface grinders, lathe, etc.
