Quality Technician I

The Quality Technician I is the project representative for the Quality objectives and focuses on customer product inspection, project material inspection, project non-conformances documentation/follow to ground, & out of control and revision product removal.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

 

  • Execution of incoming and re-work inspection of automation project components and Assist the build team with dimensional verification during debug/comissioning. 
  • Acts as the voice of quality for the shop floor Build Team, Project Engineering, Project Procurement Lead (PPL), and Program Management.
  • Participate in corporate and regulatory quality system audits on the shop floor.
  • Coordinate and manage incoming inspection processes for build projects and customer product.
  • Support Collection of data on project scrap and rework occurrences
  • Be the project coordinator for documenting, following to ground, and reporting on project based non-conformances.
  • Provide support, consultation, and direction to shop floor and Project Manager’s relative to Quality.
  • Support and improve upon Quality policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Drive and provide support to special projects/initiatives.
  • Assist with maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality System through training and communications.


QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Associates degree in technical field or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in an Inspection and/or Quality Role in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with metrology tools and data collection related to component qualification
  • Experience with ISO 9001/13485 is preferred
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with people at all levels of the organization, both verbally and in written form .
  • Strong data collection mindset and focus on strict documentation practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must be hands-on and must be able to meet deadlines for his or her responsibilities either directly or indirectly.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • The employee may be required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
  • Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
  • Visual acuity – Normal requirements for reading written instructions and computer screens.
  • Hearing ability – Normal requirements for understanding verbal instructions.
  • Working conditions – The employee is subject to a normal office environment with occasional exposure to high noise levels and/or physical hazards when visiting manufacturing floor.
  • Capable of wearing appropriate related PPE for extended periods of time.
