Supply Chain Director

ATS Automation is seeking a Director of Supply Chain for a rapidly growing company in the medical and pharmaceutical industry.  As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, directs and manages all functions of the Supply Chain department and is responsible for all external vendor performance reporting, operational process improvements, staff supervision, internal and external risk mitigation, divisional and corporate KPI’s, controls through and around the computer that is corporate compliant, compliance of division green, supplier corrective action request (SCAR) and non-conformance request (NCR) system management, coaching, mentoring, training, and overall performance of staff.


The ideal candidate has a minimum three (3) five years of experience in Supply Chain executive management and strong strategic visioning experience with experience in implementing business operating systems through strong project management experience with a minimum of (5) five years’ experience leading multi-disciplined project teams.  Strong lean skills to leverage continuous improvement concepts to practical realizations is necessary as well as expert knowledge in operating ERP systems, CAR, NCR, SCAR systems.  Responsibilities include:

  • Customer satisfaction - Zero lost opportunities due to customer dis-satisfaction, divisional reputation, or past performance
  • Vendor satisfaction – Performance manage growth and exit suppliers.  Robust quality diligence with aggressive SCAR oversight where missing minimum performance requirements.
  • Employee development - Individual development plans for each direct report required with a minimum of twelve (12) documented interactions with report per fiscal year.  
  • Financial performance – Drive lowest cost compliant partnerships continuously and achieve annual operating plan (total cost commitment savings > 10%, revenue, EBIT, cash)
  • 100% governance and compliance
    • Regulatory Compliance: International financial reporting standards (IFRS) and export
    • Corporate policies
    • Health and safety policies
    • International Organization for Standardization (ISO) procedures
    • Formal executive instruction

 

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Build an active network with local universities for talent acquisition to assure a strategic life cycle for career advancement is backfilled with new candidates from local universities.
Establish robust business systems through the ATS Business Model (ABM) toolset for efficient execution of core custom automation product deliveries.
Review trending technologies and strategically drive enhancements or new systems to be used by Supply Chain and operations for enhanced performance of core business
Oversee key risk management areas such as securities for users, customers, and vendors.
Oversee robust operation and performance for all business systems with zero tolerance approach for down time to operations.
Extreme ownership mindset and cascading culture throughout all team members for the end mission of delivering to our customers on time a quality system.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Annual strategic review of all business systems identifying risks, weaknesses, strengths, and potential new systems or upgrades to current systems.
  • Devise and implement continuous improvement initiatives that support improved services to lower total cost of ownership in all operational areas of the business.
  • Corporate Supply Chain reporting on time and green division compliance
  • Continuous support of blending corporate requirements to divisional needs in a non-confrontational manner.
  • Ensure that relevant operational, product and service standards and procedures are developed, communicated and adhered to.
  • Prepare and implement succession plans for key positions.
  • Maintain staff capabilities through the development and implementation of appropriate training and personnel development programs.
  • Ensure communication, awareness and integration with all other ATS groups and initiatives. 
  • Ensure that common policies, procedures and operational standards are implemented throughout the division that align with ATS corporate expectations.
  • Coordinate with corporate central purchasing and keep the general manager (GM) and directors aware of corporate or segment requirements and metrics to assure division is conforming in a proactive manner versus a reactive approach.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
  • Manage capital expenditures with extreme efficiency – provide metrics and monitoring to full company annual plans and progress.
  • Adhere to, train, and improve upon existing ISO standards and systems.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A bachelor’s diploma in business operations with key focus in Supply Chain management  
  • Benefits include industry certifications such as: CSCP, CPIM, CPSM, or APICS are a plus
  • Minimum three (3) five years of experience in Supply Chain executive management

  • Strong lean skills to leverage continuous improvement concepts to practical realizations.
