Position Overview:
The Assembly Technician II is responsible for independently performing intermediate‑level mechanical and electrical assembly, installation, and troubleshooting of conveyor systems, automation equipment, and subassemblies. This role requires demonstrated hands‑on proficiency across mechanical build, plastic modular conveyors, optical systems, electrical build support, and safe equipment operation.

An Assembly Technician II has successfully completed required theory and hands‑on training for assigned skills and is capable of executing work with minimal supervision, while meeting quality, safety, and productivity standards and resolving common assembly and installation issues.

 

 

 

MAJOR DUTIES: 

 

The responsibilities of the Assembly Technician II include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Complete required theory and hands‑on training for assigned skills
  • Perform assigned tasks independently and accurately
  • Demonstrate repeatable quality (minimum of 10 consecutive successful executions where applicable)
  • Identify and troubleshoot common mechanical, electrical, and system‑level issues
  • Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and equipment operating standards

  • Maintain or beat assigned project budgets
  • Maintain or beat assigned project schedules
  • Foster a positive, team‑based culture within the department
  •  Ensure high‑quality mechanical and electrical assemblies and systems are completed on time

 

Job Requirements:

  • Fundamental mechanical aptitude
  • Basic electrical wiring skills (AC and DC)
  • Ability to read and comprehend electrical schematics
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office applications and computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
  • Manual dexterity with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Positive attitude with a collaborative, team‑focused mindset
  • Flexibility to work in a fast‑paced, project‑based environment

 

 

Safety

  • Ensure all applicable regulatory and safety standards are met, including OSHA compliance
  • Actively participate in improving plant and job‑site safety
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work area
  • Ensure safety action items are completed accurately and on time

 

 

 

 

 

Continuous Improvement

 

  • Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, including:
  1. 5S events
  2. Kaizen events
  3. Weekly Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) meetings
  4. Root Cause Investigations and improvement projects
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes, workflows, and workspaces

 

Education and Experience Requirements

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working in a project‑oriented manufacturing or assembly environment
  • Reliability, punctuality, and strong time‑management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in mechanical or electrical assembly, automation, or conveyor systems
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Excel preferred)
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Experience with inventory management and material handling
