MAJOR DUTIES:
The Production Planner is responsible for releasing work orders based on ERP requirement. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining data integrity in the ERP System. The Production Planner must be dedicated and committed to ensure that all work is completed without exception.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain short term production plans based on “MPS”, customers sales orders, Material availability, and capacity constraints.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to manage delays, shortages, or priority changes
- Reviews Jobs picklists and coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components
- Support and liaison between departments during the execution phase; Planning, Account Management, Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Stockroom, and Production.
- Analyze capacity, labor, and equipment availability to optimize production
- Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP systems (GSS: Global Shop Schedule)
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as On time Delivery, schedule adherence, lead times.
- Releasing Jobs based on Engineering projects releases and by analyzing ERP messages and taking appropriate actions.
- Make sure that Job (pick lists) are always clean prior to job/project closure.
- Data entry in ERP for manufacturing, Job routing, allocation managements, and update dates,
- Maintaining ERP data integrity, Focus on Dates, manufacturing lead time and operation routing.
- Attend production DVM.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning accuracy and operational performance
Key Characteristics:
- Weekly production performance.
- Monthly On time delivery.
- Weekly Production and capacity performance.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- 5–10 years of experience in production planning, supply chain, or manufacturing operations
- Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and planning methodologies
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, inventory management, and capacity planning
