General Manager - Labware/Glassware
ATS Scientific Products is searching for a General Manager - Labware/Glassware (LW/GW) to join the team!

The General Manager has responsibility for all activities connected with strategy and tactics, sales and production, delivery and customer experience, employee engagement, and financial performance of the Labware and Glassware business.
Accountability:
- Labware/Glassware business strategy and growth attainment
- Full P&L and working capital management
- Manufacturing Operations strategy
- Product Management
- Continuous improvement application (ATS Business Model) and culture change
- Developing and coaching high performing site leadership teams
Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute the 3-year Labware/Glassware business strategy
- Own and deliver the full P&L commitments for the LW/GW business
- Drive the LW/GW Manufacturing operations strategy
- Support Channel Sales by ensuring strong customer satisfaction through sales support and strong operational performance as measured by the Value Drivers and Voice Of Customer.
- Lead Product Management to optimize value and return for the business
- Rigorously apply the ATS Business Model (ABM) throughout the business while ensuring sustainable results from each tool and event
- Create followership with LW/GW site leadership teams by positively engaging with them and by developing direct reports into strong business leaders
- Build a talent bench of successors in key and critical roles throughout the business and champion talent to drive greater results
- Develop risk mitigation plans to ensure business continuity
- Support marketing, channel management, and sales processes to drive bookings growth and margin expectations.
- Demonstrate leadership in and ensure conformity to all matters of compliance including trade compliance, health and safety, policy, and procedures, and ATS Code of Business Conduct
- Monitor and control expenditures and labor costs to operate within approved budget guidelines. Identify variances and potential corrective actions.
- Appropriate interface and co-operation with Segment and Corporate executives including observance of inter-department and inter-divisional systems, routines and communications that are essential to overall company efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business; MBA preferred
- 15+ years experience in a manufacturing business with at least 10 years hands on experience leading operations
- Minimum 10 years of experience where there was a formal continuous improvement “system” (TPS, etc.) in place which included the following CI tools: Goal/Policy Deployment, Kaizen, 5S, Problem Solving, Daily Visual Management, Growth tools, etc.
- 5+ years experience with budgeting and financial statement ownership (profit & loss)
- 5+ years commercial experience with distributor sales channels
- Direct involvement in business unit level strategic planning and goal setting
- Pharmaceutical experience a strong preference

- Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environment compliance
- Hold team members accountable for health, safety and environmental compliance as part of the annual performance review process
- Ensure that the requirements of the health, safety and environment management system are implemented and maintained
- Carry out hazard assessments, inspections, and audits as required by legislative framework and/or corporate requirements
- Ensure that training is provided to all departmental employees are per established training matrix
- Implement appropriate corrective measures for unsafe conditions and unsafe acts
- Ensure that appropriate equipment, materials and protective devices are provided and maintained in safe condition
- Provide information, instruction and supervision to employees
- Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of employees
