Logistics Supervisor
SP Industries Inc. is expanding our team in Vineland, NJ and have an immediate opening for a Logistics Supervisor. In this role, the right candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily shipping and receiving operations to ensure efficient, accurate, and compliant movement of goods. This role leads a team of logistics personnel, coordinates cross-functionally with production, inventory, and planning, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to optimize performance, service levels, and cost.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant processing of all inbound and outbound shipments
- Supervise, schedule, and support logistics team members, including assigning daily work, balancing workload, and ensuring coverage across shifts
- Ensure accurate order fulfillment, shipment preparation, labeling, and shipping documentation in accordance with internal procedures and customer requirements
- Lead inventory control processes, including cycle counts, physical inventories, reconciliation of variances, and root cause analysis of discrepancies
- Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through continuous monitoring, process adherence, and collaboration with warehouse and production teams
- Coordinate closely with production, inventory control, and planning teams to align material flow, resolve shortages, and support production schedules
- Monitor carrier performance, including on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and service quality; escalate and resolve transportation issues as needed
- Ensure compliance with all applicable DOT, OSHA, and company safety and regulatory requirements; actively promote a strong safety culture within the department
- Conduct daily operational reviews to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or risks and implement corrective actions as needed
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on warehouse efficiency, space utilization, accuracy, and cost reduction
- Track, analyze, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to shipping, receiving, productivity, and inventory accuracy
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring documentation accuracy and adherence to established controls
- Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives aimed at improving end-to-end supply chain performance
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- 3–5+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse, or distribution operations
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience required
- Experience working with ERP systems required; JD Edwards experience a plus
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Familiarity with DOT and OSHA regulations and logistics compliance standards
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred
