Material Planner

Scientific Products, an ATS Company, is expanding our team and have immediate opening for a Material Planner in our Vineland, NJ location. This position requires a strong understanding and background in material analysis demand planning and scheduling and execution. The focus will be comprised of scheduling production loading and executing to demand and aligning work order s to ensure on time delivery while complying with all requirements of internal and external customers.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews daily MRP demand planned in company ERP system performs material analysis and drops coordinating work orders for manufacture 
  • Provides ship dates for Customer Orders for manufactured products and finished goods. Determines best ship date after assessing on hand quantities planning parameters material shortages and forecasted demand fill
  • Drives demand in MRP as required with planning devices such as the sales forecast safety stock and minmax 
  • Takes ownership for all planning criteria entered into the company ERP system for assigned division. Frequently monitors quantities assigned and determines whether to increase reduce or leave in order to achieve the company's financial and delivery goals while still remaining conscious of inventory days on hand and excess avoidance
  • Partners with Service to retain acceptable safety stock quantities on hand for high probable service items in order to reduce Customer wait time
  • Owns the Production schedule maintenance and weekly publication circulates standard lead times for finished goods  
  • Works to resolve material shortages or capacity issues schedule backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions communicating laterally and escalating vertically as needed
  • Review and track on time delivery performance for both internal and external customers as well as maintain root cause analysis for late shipments
  • Constantly monitors the production and floor schedule to reduce any potential for idle labor hours plans for and schedules builds for commonly sold stock units when necessary to prevent downtime in manufacturing andor to assist in additional revenue 
  • Identifies and communicates any orders in the production backlog at risk due to Customer credit holds in order provide Finance time to mitigate with the Customer and allow for shipment
  • Collaborates with others to plan track quantify and drop code work orders for percent of completion revenue jobs to support the company's financial goals

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE            

  • B.A. or B.S. or equivalent work experience in Planning is required. 
  • Minimum of four years of Planning or Supply Chain work experience.  
  • Experience with Supply Chain in an OEM Manufacturing Environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity and strong aptitude with various ERP systems, MRP, ATP, CTP, and MPS are required. 
  • APICS certification is preferred.
  • Must have strong computer skills and possess fluency in typing and computer data entry; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; high degree of accuracy and attention to detail; ability to work and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
