Procurement & Compliance Analyst
SP Industries Inc. is expanding our team and have an immediate opening for a Procurement & Compliance Analyst. This is a remote role and will be based out of our Warminster, Pa location with occasional travel to our Pocomoke City, MD and Vineland, NJ plants.
In this role, the right candidate will be responsible for the daily procurement and strategic sourcing of laboratory consumables and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) materials to ensure uninterrupted operations, optimal inventory levels, and cost efficiency across sites. This role combines tactical purchasing execution with strategic spend management to reduce total cost of ownership, consolidate suppliers, and drive standardization. It also serves as the Supply Chain SOX Reporting Owner, responsible for maintaining compliance with internal controls over financial reporting (SOX). This includes supporting audits and ensuring accurate documentation and reporting of supply chain processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage end-to-end purchasing of lab consumables (reagents, disposables, PPE, and small lab tools), including requisition review, RFQs, purchase order creation, and order expediting
- Source, evaluate, and qualify suppliers; negotiate pricing, terms, and maintain a preferred supplier list
- Monitor inventory levels and usage trends; establish and maintain min/max levels to prevent stockouts or excess inventory
- Maintain accurate ERP/MRP system data including item master, pricing, lead times, and contract information
- Track supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness) and lead corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
- Conduct spend analysis by category, supplier, and site to identify consolidation, standardization, and cost reduction opportunities
- Partner with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams to standardize specifications, define critical spare strategies, and balance service levels with inventory cost
- Track and report procurement savings, total cost of ownership improvements, and KPI metrics including supplier count, contract coverage, and compliance to preferred sourcing
- Own design, documentation, and reporting of supply chain internal controls over financial reporting (SOX compliance)
- Coordinate and support walkthroughs of supply chain processes with internal stakeholders and internal/external auditors
- Provide documentation, data extracts, and evidence from ERP systems to support audit testing
- Maintain and update SOX control documentation including risk/control matrices, process narratives, and flowcharts
- Ensure compliance across purchasing, receiving, inventory management, and accounts payable processes
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- 3–7+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or MRO management (manufacturing or lab environment preferred)
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Strong negotiation, supplier management, and sourcing experience
- Proven ability to analyze spend data and drive cost reduction initiatives
- Experience working with cross-functional teams such as Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, or Quality
- Working knowledge of inventory management principles (min/max, safety stock, demand planning)
- Exposure to SOX compliance, internal controls, or audit support preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS
- Approximately 10-15% travel per month to manufacturing sites in Pocomoke City, MD and Vineland, NJ
- Additional travel as needed to support business requirements, ERP activities, or audit needs
