Director of Sales (Reliability Engineering)
OVERVIEW
****This position will be remote. Prefer candidates in the East or Central time zones. Travel would be about 15% to 20% in North America with some international travel required.
ATS’ Reliability Center of Excellence (RE COE) is a change-leading team that drives the delivery of high value asset management and reliability engineering services to our customers worldwide. The organization is a dynamic, fast-growing business, offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to lead overall sales efforts in an area that is critical to the success of ATS Global Services.
The Director, Consulting Service & Sales will lead the strategic direction, execution and sales of technical engineering consulting service sales initiatives to expand our reliability and asset management technical consulting services across a range of manufacturing sectors. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth and developing strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders and leading our efforts to build a best in class sales organization for the RE COE.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership:
• Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities.
• Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies and processes to achieve revenue and growth targets.
• Understand, interpret, and rapidly respond to market changes by adjusting strategies and priorities in a fast transformative environment.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to align sales objectives with the company's overall business strategy.
Sales Management:
• Build sales team over time to align and scale with strategic growth objectives of the business
• Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of future team members.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop standardized sales processes, training curriculum, incentive plans, and other foundational requirements for the function
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the team meets or exceeds sales targets including using CRM systems to manage sales pipeline & track progress
• Prepare and present regular sales forecasts, performance reports, and strategic plans to the executive team.
Client Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within our key account client organizations.
• Ability to engage in consultative selling, understanding the client's needs, and providing both standard and tailored solutions that address their specific reliability and asset management challenges.
• Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and compelling manner. Ability to present data driven insights and use data analytics to demonstrate the ROI of reliability engineering solutions in sales pitches and proposals.
• Negotiate and close high-value contracts, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Collaboration and Innovation:
• Work closely with internal departments such as product development, marketing, and customer service to ensure a cohesive approach to client solutions.
• Work closely with Operations Managers to remain current with customer needs and evolving project requirements.
• Strategic participation in key account Project Status updates.
• Drive innovation by identifying new value-add solutions and services that meet market demands.
QUALIFICATIONS
• A post-secondary diploma or degree in business/ economics, engineering, or comparable technical field of study.
• CMRP or similar Reliability/Asset Management Certification.
• Demonstrated track record of developing and effectively implementing technical or consulting sales strategies, business plans, forecasts, and budgets, and driving sales results above market growth in an After Services environment.
• Proven experience in managing, building, mentoring, motivating and leading high-performing teams and attracting and retaining top talent.
• Sales experience within enterprise, global organizations coupled with proven experience in developing transformative and effective sales processes and strategies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively convey the value proposition of asset management and reliability engineering services.
• Financial acumen; especially related to margin improvement levers and cash generation.
• Proficient in the technical aspects of asset management and reliability engineering including Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), maintenance strategies, and others.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and the specific reliability challenges faced by the automation industry.
